Palmer Arena Rules

We welcome you to plan your next event at the David S. Palmer Arena. We want everyone to be safe while at the arena, so we have etablished the following rules while using our venue.

General Arena Policies

Bottles, cans, coolers, fireworks, food, laser pointers, and recording devices are not permitted in Palmer Arena. It is the discretion of the show whether or not video cameras or still cameras are allowed for events. Video Cameras are almost never allowed, while still cameras usually are.

 

While many of these items will be confiscated at the main entrance, all employees will be alert to those items being brought into the facilities. If patrons are already inside the facility, the items will be confiscated, discarded or the patron may return the item to their vehicle. All confiscated items will be sent to the administrative office and held for pick-up for 30 days. After 30 days, the Palmer Arena will discard all items.

Banners

Banners may not be hung anywhere in the Arena by anyone other than those given written authorization to do so by Palmer Arena. Patrons must return any unwanted banners to their vehicle.

Child’s Admission Policy

Everyone, 2 years and older, attending events must have a ticket, though there are exceptions on some family shows.

Illegal Vending

We will not permit vending, soliciting, collecting contributions for any purpose whatsoever or distributing of handbills on the premises.

Knives

Patrons in possession of knives or wearing decorative handcuffs or spiked wristbands must return the items to their vehicles, or if inside the building, check these items in with a Security officer in the lobby.

Laser Pointers

Any patron seen using a laser pointer will be escorted out of an event with no refund.

Wristbands

Palmer Arena, in accordance with Alcohol Beverage Laws and with a genuine interest to serve responsibly, will check the ID of every patron wanting to consume alcoholic beverages. In the interest of expediting the process at the point of sale we wristband each person that is 21 years or over.

Underage Drinking, Alcohol Bottles and Can Possession

All patrons in the building, who are identified as being under the age of 21 and in possession of alcohol, will be taken to the Administrative office, ejected, and their parents will be notified for proper advisement. When necessary, they may be turned over to the Danville Police Department.

 

All persons who are drinking alcohol and appear to under the legal drinking age but cannot produce proper identification will be processed as above.

 

All persons identified as the person(s) supplying underage drinkers with alcohol will be processed as above.

 

All persons 21 and over who are found at the arena with alcohol in bottles or cans in their possession, will be taken to the Administrative Office.

Arena Admission to Facility, Anti-scalping Policies/Procedures

No person, including minors, shall be admitted to any event in the Arena without holding a valid ticket to the event.

 

Selling tickets in excess of face value, or scalping, is illegal in the state of Illinois. (Refer to 5-53-201 in the Illinois Criminal Law Manual).

 

Anyone with information on scalping should report it to appropriate arena personnel.

 

No persons, including minors, shall be permitted to events at the arena or additional projects at the complex unless properly attired. Palmer Arena reserves the right to determine proper attire for events at the complex.

 

Unless authorized by Palmer Arena, no person shall be admitted into the facility of the complex with any of the following items in his possession:

 

  • Alcohol beverages or controlled substances (unless prescribed for the possessor)
  • Cameras, audio or visual recording equipment
  • Radios, televisions or any other such electronic devices
  • Pets
  • Bottles, either plastic or glass
  • Shopping carts
  • Cans or coolers
  • Fireworks
  • Weapons and dangerous devices of any type
  • Food and Beverages

Smoking

Palmer Arena is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not allowed in public areas of the Arena by any patron or employee. There are however, four designated smoking areas outside the Arena.

Anyone observed smoking inside the facility shall be asked to extinguish the item immediately. Any person who refuses to comply with the policy shall be subject to ejection from the facility.
